Legoland!

The boys will be going to Legoland for the first time at half term. They could not be more excited and cannot wait to take lots of photos for their blog. They will be staying in a themed room and so will have lots of great things to discover as well all the fun of the park itself. Having had no summer break, this should more than make up for it and should give them plenty of material for this website!

On the Moon

The boys have come up with a new Lego design. Having been so interested in the Mars Rover, they came up with a scene of what they think it might look like if people go on to Mars.

Olympic Stadium

The boys have been making the most fantastic Lego Olympic stadium. The photo was taken when it was still being made and unfortunately they broke it up before a photo was taken of the finished thing. If you look carefully you can see the people watching, the camera in the corner, the Olympic flame, a sprinted about to start racing with a man with a gun starting him and a pole vault area. The Olympics certainly inspired them!

Review - Remote Control Mini Helicopter

Toby decided to spend some of his savings on Saturday because the local toy shop had a cheap remote control mini helicopter in stock. I was worried, that it may just break easily because it was so cheap and then he would be very upset that his hard earned pocket money bought him something that was no good. However, the toyshop owner demonstrate dhow tough the helicopter was by crashing it hard in to the ceiling of the shop and letting it drop straight to the ground.

The helicopter has been used a lot since bought and is still in perfect working order. It is difficult to control, but that is part of the fun. It is small so can be flown inside, even in rooms with ceilings that are not that high, although low hanging lights might not be advisable!

So far it as given lots of fun, so I would say it was £20 well spent!

Review - Lego Technic 9392

This Technic kit was another exciting present for two lucky boys! It was quite complicated to build, which gave Mummy and Daddy some fun with it as well and as it is designed for eight year olds and the boys are seven it was not surprising that they found it tough. They enjoyed the vehicle once it was built though. It runs well on thick carpet, which is great for houses that have this. The great thing about technic is that it is harder to get apart, which means that the items stay built for longer. It means that they are not so frustrating in that they do not fall apart so often and they get played with more in their made up form, rather than being quickly broken up and added to the box of general Lego bits, which is what happens quickly to most other sets that they get bought.
